Stu did this ride once and I've wanted to do it, but something else has always been going on, so when I first saw the title of this thread, I thought about it.

I already knew some of it, like the fact my kids can't go. But I understand there are insurance requirements and it IS a road.

But a rule about my butt's contact with my seat?

Please. We'll take the kids up there by car this summer. I might even roll down my window and stick my arm out of the moving vehicle, just to be a rebel.

Hey Shannon, we don't need no troublemakers on the road.. Putting your hand out the window could endanger small bugs and mosquitos!

Gee wiz, some folks have no consideration for life!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I went up last year. The weather was misting at the base, about a third of the way up it cleared and sunny and at about the half way point it clouded in, heavy fog, rain and high winds. Couldn't see a thing. Big troubles even seeing the road at times. So be prepaired for any and all weather conditions there. It was a good time. The Mt Washington workers at the bottom were quite a bit on the rude side but overall I enjoyed it.

Do this ride if you haven't been up there.. It is really nice, however, if you've done it I would not pay the huge price, money not withstanding. But all the BS.. I don't think we as ATVers should grace these people again.

Rules are one thing, but all this BS is just anti-consumer and clearly they're trying to get us out. So take your money to a business that clearly appreciates you!!!

With all those rules it would turn most people off.
I guess at this point I will wait for No more Atv's allowed. They usually make 3000 to 4000 dollars off this event in a couple of hours. Guess MT. Washington doesn't want money.

Most of the rules are covering the horseplay that has been ongoing over the years. The NH Registration is due to removal of reciprocity, and NHATV not pulling a rally permit.

As new riders that have never gone enter the community, the ride will give them the opportunity to try it at least once in their lifetime.
Its unique... and being unique will hold value as most events become clones of one another.

anyone planning on doing the Mt. Washington ride on the 25th? I am going to spend the morning at Mt. Washington and spend the rest of the day at Jericho Park.

John and Jacob and Chucky were planning on going but it seems not alot of people are going. What membership costs are involved to ride this for one day? Please respond. JB doesn't want to do it alone, would like to see many from our clubs going, do a cook out etc. Let us know.

This is from the NHATV site:

Quote:
New for 2010 you must be a member of the NHATV club (not our rule). The auto road has agreed to allow us to issue a 30 day temporary membership. For all non members wishing to ride the Big One this membership entitles its holder to all club benefits and at least 1 Newsletter. A cost of $2.00 will be incurred. (Sorry)Ticket costs this year are $25.00 for single ATV. With an additional $8.00 for a passenger on a "2 up" machine (must be factory manufactured for 2 riders).

It looks like it would be $27.00 for a single ATV (if you're not already a member of NHATV) or $35 for two people on a factory 2-up.

Just got back from the Mt. Washington ride, it was a nice day but somewhere around 5000 feet it got foggy, windy and misty as hell. Visibility was probably around 20-30 feet Shocked .

I will post a video when i have time to edit.

I want to make a few things clear.
The NHATV Club is dictated ALL the rules for the ride up the Auto Road Including the temp membership to the NHATV Club.
The Mt Washinton Ride has been a succesfull yearly event put on by the NHATV Club and the NHATV Club ONLY. Anothers words its a NHATV Club Event that is planned by the NHATV Club. NHATV Club is not asked by Mt Washington to plan this event for them. The NHATV Club contacts the Mt every year and applies for permission to hold this event on thier property.
We all have 1 thing in common! The love of Riding ATVs, Lets just Ride and leave the BS....
