Seven Lakes is looking to merge with NDVATV.

We expect that their officers will be seated for NDVATV, and then they will commence from there to keep trails open throughout the area and try to expand.

We gave up ATVs in Belknap County, and now the focus is on getting rid of the sleds.
Opposition blocked the Weirs east-west access for sleds, and has been on the backs of those of us that are landowners on the next southern east-west route here in Belmont.

One landowner has already partially fell (time limit on when the trail is open); and reports that another landowner is losing their land because they can not afford it. The opposition has the money - so the gentrification in the area is picking up.

So we're trying to keep the trails open in that area against the pressure to close.

That's pretty lousy news Rabid, makes me sad. I've been riding a sled these past few years and have taken quite a liking to it. It's been nice because I have trails right out my back door and being in construction I actually have the time to ride in the winter. I was pretty annoyed when they ended up closing my one connection to Ossipee. Hopefully things can change for the better.

It isn't likely to change... its really more of adapting.
In our area, the process has happened before... then the Great Recession stopped it... and now it has started again.

During the GR, the process was moving to shutdown hunting and ATVs.
It incorporated a rise in horses on the trails and sleds in the winter.

After the GR, the horses on the trails - which is more of a middle class phenomena, as the wealthy have show animals that never see trails - the horses were all gone.

Very hard to determine what the ''norm'' will be...
