my friend went mudding with his artic cat 650 tony stewart edition (has a kawi 650 engine) and he went in above the air box and took on water and shut it down. I have drained the oil (it had water in it) I have pulled the water from the cylinders and the belt drive. have changed the plugs. added fresh cheap oil with old filter to start and then change again with new oil and new filter. the problem is it will not start without putting a small amount of gas directly into the carbs any suggestions? oh I drained the fuel and put fresh fuel in and i un plugged the line into carb and when key is turned on the fuel pump comes on and fuel comes out the fuel line. could it be swamp water in the carb has the carb plugged?

Sounds like water in the carb bowls. I would take the carbs off and clean them out. My son's did the same thing when he swamped it. Would fire but not run. We blew into the carb vent and you could see the water mixed with the gas.
